The Aubonne Black Powder Mill
It was founded in 1853. It is the last mill of its kind still working in Switzerland. Most of the plant dates from its foundation and is still working in part by hydraulic power. The building housing the carbonizing kiln and stack is carefully maintained. The Swiss Technical Services Association (TÜV) awarded the plant ISO 9001: 2000 certification in 2002. The factory is situated on the banks of Lake Geneva, between Geneva and Lausanne.
